My beautiful daughter

Beware for picture overload!! My beautiful daughter made the decision to be baptized. I couldn't be more proud of her! We designed her baptism Dress together. She loved the baptism dress I made here. But she also wanted to incorporate the lace that I used for this blessing dress. So together we drew lots of pictures and this is what we came up with.
I love it so much and I think it completely fits her personality perfectly. It's elegant without being to much or over the top.
She is just the sweetest girl ever. I love her so much and couldn't be more impressed with the beautiful, kind, sweet girl that she has become.

If you are interested in ordering a custom baptism dress for your daughter I would love to work with you.  Please check out my etsy store here. I would love to talk to you.

Romper Dress

My sister in law just had a baby & wanted something unique for a blessing dress. She decided she wanted something ivory or off white. And she really liked the look of rompers, so we came up with this cute romper dress. I added short sleeves to make it more modest & I made it long enough so it would extend off of the infants legs and cascade down. I also made a small button hole toward the top corner so she could switch out between flowers and bows to change up the look. I think It turned out really cute. It will be fun to see it on her on her special day!

Twirly Circle Dress

I am just in love with these adorable circle dresses. They are what I call semi Homemade.

You start with a tshirt. I used one with a big stain on it.

Next, measure from where you want the waist band to be, down to the length you'd like and write it down.

Next, you are going to measure your fabric.  Cut the waist first you are going to literally cut a circle for the waist.  This is where the fabric will attach to the Tshirt.

Then, Measure from the edge of the circle you just cut for the length you want and cut all the way around.  So you will end up with a big circle with a little circle in the middle.  When folded in half it will look like this.

Flip the fabric inside out and put the shirt inside it so that the right sides are together.  Pin all the way around. Sew all the way around

Next Hem or serge the bottom.

You can add a waist band ribbon or any type of embellishments that you want.

Have your princess take it for a spin.  Takes about 15 minutes to half an hour and turns out SO adorable.

Paint on an old shirt

We all have those shirts with a little stain on them. I've been on a bit of a Tshirt kick lately. I saw this post on one of my favorite blogs & knew I had to try it myself. Just a little paint, a brush, some tape and cardboard. So simple & an easy transformation. Find an awesome tutorial on how to do this here.

Little things make a big difference

We found this adorable little dress in the clearance section at Ross.

It was way cute but seemed like it was missing something. I went ahead and got it thinking I could add a ribbon or something to it. While looking for a cute ribbon I came across this cute flower trim that I got for another project that I changed my mind about. So simple & cute. I just pinned it in place & sewed around the outer edges of the flowers. It was exactly what this dress needed.

Such a big difference.

Kids maxi skirts

So I showed you the maxi skirt that my oldest daughter made here. Well, my 5 year old was extremely jealous & really wanted to learn how to make one too. So we decided to have a sewing lesson.

The girls LOVED it and would like to learn how to make one thing per week (or more). I have to admit, I loved it too. Hopefully I won't get crazy busy again & we can do more sewing lessons. There Maxi skirts turned out adorable too if I don't say so myself!

Dejas maxi skirt

So proud of my beautiful daughter who made this adorable maxi skirt. She has been watching me make all kinds of skirts & fell in love with this material at the fabric store. She really did make the whole thing herself. I sat beside her & walked her through it but she honestly sewed every stitch. We made this skirt the same way that we make the adult maxi skirt. We did it with a folded yoga waist band so it's super comfortable. If you want directions you can find the maxi skirt tutorial here.

Semi homemade necklace & earrings

Remember those georgous semi homemade necklaces I showed you how to make Here?  Well I have really needed earrings for a while and decided to make me some. I'm not sure why but for some reason earrings have always made me nervous to make. They shouldn't have because they were super simple. I just bought all the pieces to make them at Joanns & put them together. I think it took less than 10 minutes. I also wanted a longer necklace so I got the pieces & made this one. So simple & cute. I've seen these semi homemade kits all over. I just loved Tori Spellings line @ Joanns. So next time you are at the craft store pick up some stuff to make one yourself. You'll be glad you did!

Remember this?

I have not blogged in a while because I've been drowning in lace skirts! I've done about 6 weddings, all of which have requested lace bridesmaids skirts in one form or another. I've been doing little else these days. I've asked the brides to send me pictures of there weddings for you all to see. So stay tuned for that. But in the meantime, remember that cute tie onsies I made for my cousin out of my late grandpa's dress shirts? Well, one of them finally fits. Is he not the cutest little thing you've ever seen.

Lace Top

I was so excited when I was asked to make a matching lace shirt to go with this lace skirt for a wedding. I have been wanting to do one of these for a while for myself, but have been so busy doing custom orders I have hardly had time to sew anything for myself. It's so fun to do weddings. I love to work with brides and hear of the ideas that they have, to be able to be the one to make there dreams and visions a reality is so cool to me. This lace is the exact Ivory lace that I use in the lace skirt. It looks lighter in this picture because I have a lighter undershirt underneath it. That is something else I love about this lace. It seems to change depending on what you want to put underneath it.

If you have one of my lace skirts and would like to have a matching top feel free to visit my etsy store here. This shirt would also look great with just about anything. I love it and when I get caught up I will be making one (or several) for myself :)

Pink Sheer blouse

These sheer shirts have been HUGE lately. I have seen them everywhere. I made this Sheer shirt a few months ago and listed it on my etsy store all the sudden the last couple of weeks I've sold a whole bunch of them in every color. I think out of a bunch of different colors this pink one is turning out to be one of my favorites. In fact I loved it so much I decided to make one for myself :) Go make yourself one. Or, if you would rather buy one visit my store.

Flower Girl Dresses

I have been doing TONS of weddings lately. Which is great! I actually really enjoy doing special occasion clothing. I haven't been taking many pictures because I've mostly been doing my Lace Pencil Skirts which you've all seen already. These Flower girl dresses turned out really cute. I was worried they would be too simple but once I added the satin sash I thought it was just perfect for a wedding. 3 of the 4 dresses just happened to be the same size as my 3 girls so of course I made them try them on so I could take pictures ;) This cute bride also chose something a little different then the traditional thing for her bridesmaids and they are turning out gorgeous!  I'll post some pictures of those as soon as they are done!

If you or someone you know is in need of a seamstress for a wedding let me know! I just love doing weddings. feel free to brows thru my etsy store here.

Pillows

I've been doing lots and lots of pillows lately. These ones I think are my favorite. My parents recently moved to a new apartment in Canada and I wanted to make my mom something cute for her new place. She picked out the fabric. I love how they turned out. They are very modern and classy. I added a zipper to the bottom for easy removal for washing. Now I need to make myself some!

Ruffle crib skirt

I feel so guilty that I haven’t blogged in forever. Life has been a little crazy lately. But I've still been sewing nonstop & have lots of projects I'm excited to show you!  The first of which is this gorgeous ruffled crib skirt.
My beautiful cousin is expecting her 2nd daughter this summer and fell in love with the idea of a ruffle crib skirt. However, she fell in love with them before she realized how much they cost. These puppies start at about $200 and go up from there. That's just for the crib skirt all by itself. I told her I'd be happy to help her out.
Her nursery is going to be mint & salmon. With chevron accents. So cute!
I used just under 5 yards of fabric. I just made a basic bed skirt & then layered it with ruffles. It's honestly pretty time consuming which is probably why they can be so pricy. But in the end, it's gorgeous & can be a beautiful focal point to the crib. I'm hoping to find the time to make something similar for my girls big girl beds.
